Heather Hamilton
Managing Principal
Based upon her experience preparing and reviewing thousands of fiduciary accountings, Heather Hamilton has developed the expertise to support litigation, mediation, and court reporting in trust, estate, and conservatorship matters. In 2007, she founded Fiduciary Accounting Services, LLC (FAS) with the understanding that many attorneys, accountants, and bookkeepers do not have the time, resources, or expertise to prepare thorough and accurate accountings in accordance with the California Probate Code. Today, Heather is recognized as one of the most skilled practitioners of fiduciary accounting in California.
She co-authored the Fiduciary Accounting Handbook, Chapters 3 and 16, published by Continuing Education of the Bar (CEB 2015) as updated in 2020. She has presented and provided fiduciary accounting instruction to professional organizations throughout California. She has been appointed Referee (Section 639), providing review and recommendations to the court regarding the approval of accountings. She is a member of the East Bay Trusts & Estates Lawyers, Diablo Valley Estate Planning Council, and Professional Fiduciaries of California.
Prior to founding FAS, Heather worked in commercial banking for 15 years, focusing on business development and client relationship management. Her client base included privately held and family-owned businesses, high net-worth individuals as well as technology companies. A graduate of California State University, Chico, she holds a degree in Finance. She has served on the board of several local non-profit organizations including the Cancer Support Community (former board member), the Junior League of Oakland-East Bay (former President of the Board), and the Contra Costa Ballet Foundation (former President of the Board).
In her free time, Heather enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter. She enjoys traveling and is learning to play golf.
